Why firewalls are NOT
enough!
- A Firewall is designed to prevent
unrequested intrusions from getting into your network. When one of
your employees (authorized personnel) requests information from the
Internet -- no matter how innocent or damaging the material they are
requesting may be -- the firewall lets it in because the request
comes from an authorized user. It's tantamount that the security
guard (firewall) in your building requests to see an entry pass from
an unknown employee or delivery person, but when faced with the
President of the Company, smartly addresses the individual and
welcomes him or her to the building.
- Firewalls can't protect what goes on
behind them. Firewalls are, by their very nature, server-based.
Without individual protection at the workstation level, firewalls
are powerless to secure unauthorized access.
- Firewalls only protect things from
coming in. The real damage occurs when malicious intrusions try to
take things away outside of the network. Only Cytlok gives you the
power to control and protect information leaving the
individual workstation or server.
- Firewalls can do nothing to improve
